Shuttle Driver, PT
Reports To: Driver Supervisor
Shift Schedule: Monday and Thursdays, 2 nights a week, 24 hours a week. Shuttle drivers start at 3:00 PM and finish at 3:00AM.
General Summary: The purpose of the Shuttle Driver position is to haul a set empty trailers from our satellite yard in Pasco, WA, to the Lacey Distribution Center, unhook the empty trailers, put them in the correct doors, hook up loaded trailers, and then haul the trailers back to where the shift started.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer, multiple times nightly. Communicating any issues with supervisor and shop mechanics.
Proper connecting and disconnecting of sets of doubles using a trailer dolly
Navigate Washington's passes in varying weather, including snow and rain. Chaining up will be necessary when required by WSDOT
Haul empty trailers to the Lacey Distribution Center, unhook empty trailers, hook up loaded trailers, and then haul the trailers back to where the shift started
Drivers must maintain safe operation of company vehicles on all public and private roadways and property
Drivers will conduct themselves with professionalism as Class A CDL Drivers using safe driving techniques, defensive driving, and abiding by all of the DOT mandated regulations which may apply to their day to day work
Will need to be able to occasionally work full time for vacation coverage of other drivers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of transportation principles and methods for transporting goods by commercial vehicle
Skilled in using time efficiently and attention to detail
Ability to physically complete physical requirements of job
Ability to drive commercial vehicles (semi-trucks and trailers up 52 feet, doubles, solo trucks, vans, etc.)
Ability to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work environment
Education and Experience:
Acceptable MVR record
Three years commercial driving experience required
License and Certifications:
Class A CDL License required and have doubles endorsement
Current medical certificate card
