Drive a tanker to the rail yard, pick-up and deliver our resin into resin silos located at the New Castle Plant. Deliver product to customers within the state of Pennsylvania. Perform Warehouse Associate responsibilities when not performing as Driver.
Pick-up resin at the local rail yard and deliver resin to the plant as needed based on specific product and production needs. Deliver product to customers throughout the state of Pennsylvania as needed.
Perform Warehouse Associate responsibilities when not performing as Driver. (See Warehouse Associate job description.) Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures, as well as SQF 2000 System requirements Represent Silgan PCS in a professional manner, with a high degree of respect for existing and potential customers. Maintain a clean and safe working area. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Other duties as assigned.
Periods of sitting, reaching, stooping/kneeling/bending over 2/3 of time spent on the job. Using hands to finger, handle, or feel over 2/3 of time spent on the job. Periods of reaching, climbing, talking/hearing, light lifting/carrying 1/3 to 2/3 of time spent on the job with occasional lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds. Periods of walking and standing under 1/3 of time spent on the job. Vision requirement includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Class A CDL with tanker endorsement. One to three months related experience and/or training. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must possess attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Knowledge of basic computer skills is preferred, but not required. Current Fork Lift and High Lift license is preferred, but not required.
